Ah A Tornado!
This is just a funny little story from my daughter. Well, actually my daughters friend to my daughter who then told me. Well it's handed down a bit but still funny.
I think most of you all know that I live in a tiny little town. It's mostly ranches and farms here. We still have cattles drives etc. There's a little store that looks nothing like 7/11 or Circle K, but that is where this takes place.
My daughters friend was there outside sitting on the bench in front of the store. There's a man in a business suit there standing by his car. He's talking on his cell phone: Hello! Hello! Can you here me?! I'm out in the middle of nowhere here!
(suddnely one of those little dust devils comes up) Ah! A tornado!!
(He jumps in his car and drives off).
I realize this may not be as funny to other people as it was to us. My daughter and I laughed at that story till we cried. We get really strange reactions from "city people" and the stories are hilarious. I had to share one.
If you didn't laugh, I'm sorry. It could be that my daughter is just a much better story teller than I am. Or, you just had to be there.

A dust devil? Are you kidding me???
I know. I used to be a "city person". I have to tell people. These people who do these crazy things, just happen to be umm, funny. It's not the normal city persons reaction.

I think maybe he was just panicked. He was probably lost,
and freaking out. He probably
thought he went through a time hole or something. It is a bit like a time warp here. But we like it that way.

ROFL!!! We love the dust devils they're cool! some of them can get pretty tall and very cool looking but definitely different from a tornado. darn city slickers
oh and we had never seen a dust devil until we moved out here to the desert but we did know it wasn't a tornado lol
:rotlf: Hilarious!
Having grown up in tornado territory, this is one of my pet peeves.
Whenever there's a stout wind and a tree blows over (the roots are shallow anyway because it's a dry climate), the news people say it was a "tornado"!
I yell at the TV every time.

Lain you live in LA everything out there is dramatized. Y'all even drag out the PD chasing a little white bronco.

Thought for the day:

uniforms like NASCAR drivers, so
we could identify their corporate
sponsors."
I'm glad you guys laughed too.
I think the way my daughter tells it puts an extra giggle
worthyness to it though.
