My friend just sent this to me! I'm dedicating it to Sy! She has really been missing her beloved New Orleans!

I would rather take care of myself than rely on the gov't to take care of me or my children. The government is the most inefficient at spending money.
That is too cute.Last time I was in New Orleans there was a guy there who also worked with puppets.
I've never been there.
But I have had friends from there and other friends/fam who have been
there. My husband was there a long time ago with his best friend and best man. Who mentioned their visit there during the wedding toast! Apparently they had a wild time!
We have talked about going there often. We need to do that! He said a friend had taken them on a tour of
the french quater and he said it was really amazing because she knew so much and it was like one of those tours where they tell all the details about places but it was just him and his friends.
He really liked it.

I only live about 3-4 hours away from there and its always cool to go.Orleans is like a whole different country. Its laid back and the Garden District and French Quarter are amazing!Everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
my first and only trip to new orleans was when I was about 10-11 years old. boy, what were my parents thinking? it was very pretty and interesting, I remember. We stayed in the french quarter, and went to some mall on the river and they had a store that sold fudge. (highlight for me). Then we ate at some restaurant across the river that was like an old mill or something. it was rustic, but I think it was supposed to be kind of fancy. anyway, I had just started my period, which i thought was the END OF THE WORLD. no seriously, THE END. and we were up early one morning walking around and there was a drunk lady hanging out of a cab yelling at me.
also, it inspired my lifelong hate for Shoney's restaurants. my parents used to take us on long car trips all over the country, and I swear my mom could find a Shoney's with some kind of internal radar. UGH!
Harts, thanks so much for that. Its adorable.
Kris sorry your mom couldn't find a cracker barrel. I so understand your dislike for Shoney's. I add Denny's to that as well.
